Sexuality: People call him 'omnisexual' - he'd shag anything with a postcode, and that includes aliens. Especially those with tentacles.
Buuuut: at least in this fic's case Ianto really means a LOT to him

Jack was born in the 51st century. Nobody knows what exactly happened there - in fact, not even Jack knows, because the Time Agency (where he used to work) erased two years of his memorys. After that he became some kind of intergalactic con man - until he met the Doctor (watch 'The Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances' from Doctor Who to see what exactly happened). He then traveled with the Doctor for a while, but then died (in 'Parting of the Ways'). But his friend, another companion of the Doctor, Rose absorbed all of time and space and brought him back to life. But she didn't know what she was doing - she brought him back forever.
Jack then tried to get back to the 21st century to find the Doctor, but he miscalculated and ended up in the 18th or 19th century (not so sure right now). Anyway, long time ago. At some point he joned the organisation TORCHWOOD, that deals with alien threats. He's seen many many people die, and has lost about everyone who has ever mattered to him.

His current team is: Toshiko Sato(technician), Gwen Cooper(she got the soul or whatever.), Ianto Jones(archivist, tea-boy and keeps the hub running. and he's with jack) and Owen Harper(medic).

But then, finally, Jack's Doctor comes along again and without even a though about his teams, he runs after him. He's waited for several centuries after all...

Ianto Jones is Welsh and his accent ist just... okay, I can't find the right word, ask "BlaiddDrwg", she'll be able to tell you every little detail about it!

He joined Torchwood London at a very young age. He also had a girlfriend there, but she was half-converted into a Cyberman at the Battle of Canary Wharf, which destroied all of Torchwood One, except for less than 30 survivors, Ianto being one of them.
Lisa (that's his girlfriend) - or more precisely, her body, was still alive so he brought her to Torchwood Three in Cardiff, stalked Jack until he got a job there and hid her in the basement. But of course, her mind/soul/memories were gone, she was a monster, and none of Lisa was left. Which meant that at some point she started attacking people. Killing people.
The team found out and eventually killed her. Ianto wasn't happy.

He stayed at Torchwood though, because even though the first weeks/months after Lisa's dead were hard, Torchwood - and Jack! - gave him meaning again. He started a relationship with Jack (well, you can't say that for SURE, but at least they were shagging. and in my mind they were in a relationship, and therefore in this fanfic too) - and then Jack left.
The fanfic starts from this point on.
